You've gotta hand it to the Targa people - they never stop innovating. I remember Savage River road as a pretty rough track but still good fun.

I wouldn't stand a chance!

I might do the Porsche Tour next Targa but I'm not into comp Tarmac rallies. Too dangerous for me. I'll be happy to drive it at leisure with you in a small group though.

okay....

I have made a couple of inquiries about this event.

MY hair brain plan at this stage...

Thursday
Drive to melb, get on ferry

Friday
Drive North East side of island
arrive at Bernie for scrutineering

Saturday
Drive event all day (not caring about competitions)
you can arrange to run in a group on the road with friends.

I would be treating the event as a way of having both sides of the road and knowing no one is coming the other direction
There will be a top speed of 130km/h but I don't think that is an issue knowing the roads

Get onto ferry Sat night after event

Sunday
drive back

so effectively a normal tassie trip except Thursday to sunday and a few targa stages included on the sunday.

Thoughts????

The only thing you forgot to add is that anyone doing it has no insurance. :o

insurance.
you are correct for the targa part.

That was part of my decision process with picking up the subi.
The Gt4 could work well for you.
Shack had the boxster
Mr Uber has the elfin

there are options.

also do not race drive to yours and the cars ability

I would be treating this as a social trip made more exciting by being involved with a bigger picture and a massive amount of other very cool cars.

Plus 100 kms of the best roads in Aus clear for us to use, wow that sounds like my type of weekend.

Would motorsport insurance cover the Targa leg or is it too limited?
