I am seeking help from all you Ferrari buffs out there. My situation is this...
My father passed away recently so my mother and I are facing the sad task of selling his pride and joy - a Ferrari 308 GTB, 1978 model. Problem is we are unsure exactly what it's worth and the prices for similar cars I have found so far on the internet seem to vary quite dramatically. We would prefer to sell it privately rather than use a dealer. The car is in pretty good condition but does require a little bit of attention. Any thoughts on what kind of figure we might be able to ask for it would be much appreciated... thanks!

Sorry to hear about your dad.

This is one of those how long is a piece of string questions.

Good luck and keep up in the loop.

If you have more specs on it, that would help a lot.

I love my car. Buy your own

Would it help to have a PPI done at this stage???? Just to get an idea of condition??

Thanks for reminding me, if ferrarifixer PMs you, watch out.

The car could be worth $50k- $80k probably, depending on specs and condition.

I assume it's a steel body carby car.

why pm him

If he wants an inspection done, I or any number of specialists can tell him what condition the car is in.

I'd suggest he contact the owners club in his area, for recommendations.

Thanks for all those suggestions guys. We need to find out more about what needs to be done so an inspection is probably a good place to start.
I don't think Dad was a member of any Owners Clubs but that avenue might be worth a try for more information.
(PS I am a 'she' not a 'he')  :)

It doesn't matter about owners club status, simply contact them for a recommendation if you don't have any idea yourself.

If you'd like a recomendation, just say where you are, or where the car is (not too specifically) , and we'll guide to the people around you who may be the best help.
