That's probably the most likely reason for Phil's misconception, now that you've mentioned that. Lots of old Ferraris have loose and worn door hinges. That'll drop the door as soon as it's opened, of course  .... regardless of what angle the car is parked on. So most likely Phil's boxer has as much chassis flex as the rest of them, but his hinges were in good condition.

Quite simple, really.
