The best 3*8 is a pre abs uk spec Gtb.

The abs cars have abs..... obviously you might think... but actually the aussie ones dont!

The abs ones have negative scrub radius and anti dive geometry.... which makes them feel uninspiring to drive as peepee experienced.

The uk cars have significantly more torque and power than aussie ones due to better manifolds, and no cat and hi comp and camshafts etc.

Uk ones are also lighter.

For me,  its a dry sump glass car or a uk 328 Gtb as pick of the bunch.

I believe there were a small number of ABS equipped 328's delivered to Oz...amongst the last to arrive.

I think 1 or maybe 2 slipped through as cock ups.

They weren't supposed to be here, but yes, you're right.

The final nail in 328 handling sublimity was the Bilstein shocks.... The Koni cars are much much nicer to drive.

My car is VERY nice to drive. ;)

And to back up PP, the 308 carbi cars are fun to drive and do sound great with the window down.  You can have a lot of fun without driving at warp factor seven.  Nothing like doing the old heel toe around the winding roads.

Yeah, but your car is so far from standard it's unrecognisable  :tilt:

A UK spec pre abs 328 GTB drives just like a carbie 308, only without the fuel surge or induction growl.....

A sports exhuast (but not a tubi) on a 328 makes all the difference too... really frees up the revs... The tubis are a bit dull and fluffy, you need other brands. Strange, as Tubi are great usually.

A few more than that I believe........lots of weird shit went on back then!

I know of an Oz spec/delivered 328 ABS car that went back to the UK brand new with an Oz compliance plate,to fulfill a UK customer order..............then returned back to Oz many years later!  Car is in S.A. last I heard...
