ridiculous.. why?

And yes, it got fixed properly, and then "apparently" it was decided to sell it there..

and there it stayed until now...

But all this happened in 1993/4... I'd love greater clarity of detail... got anything?

Repairs.

The front bumper and boot floor got damaged. The importer here tried to fix it, but it wasn't right, so it went to Maranello UK to be done right.

Got records and invoices showing parts used. No big deal at all. Trying to get the photos too.

I know that it's a "Ferrari" and all that but it is just a car right? How can it possible be financially sound to send what was then a current model car 12,000 miles to be fixed?

You Ferrari guys are fucking mad.

Financially sound... who cares about that... throw economics into Ferrari ownership, and nobody wuld ever own one (except the lucky few)

Dunno, but I might speculate, that perhaps the guy was so unhappy with the perceived bad local repair, that he cracked it and demanded his then "nearly new" car was re-repaired or exchanged for new... maybe that's what did happen? *shrug*

Porsches are boring. Great cars and better than Ferrari in almost every way, but Boring. The end.

ya know...you might think that....but i can assure you that if you're a car nut and passionate about your porsche, you wouldn't do that.

you COULD do that with a ferrari too....but no one *I* associate with would. (apart from me, perhaps)
I love my car. Buy your own

well...that's just a really odd story.

keep digging...the story behind it might be more interesting than the car itself!
