That's right!

The point that is being missed is that the 599 is a race car on slicks.  The GTR time is a road car on the same road tyres they get delivered on in Australia.

Imagine how much faster it would go if they fixed the seat to stop it moving around and fixed the shocks to stop the car bouncing so much.....

~10 sec faster again?

are they still using the magnetic shocks?

don't know, but none of the other race cars have used them.

the 360 and 430 C use similar looking items, but have conventional gas/hydraulic inside.

The biggest weakness (speed wise) of Ferrari track cars is their terrible shock control... they're only any good on billiard table smooth circuits.
