what a beauty!! Looks very original, apart from the shields, and only 11000km!! But what's it doing in Europe?

Just had a few texts from Carl, he's doing some advocacy it seems... Could be a good car for him to sell?

if a car was sold new to Australia presumably import duty has already been paid - if it's exported out, the duty is not refundable hence if it were to be imported back into Australia - will it get taxed again?
Forgiveness is easier to achieve than permission!

The prices they are being sold for over there are INSANE. I've heard $200k plus sales……………… still hanging on to mine until my final breath :)

I've also seen 360 Challenge Stradales at over 150k pounds sterling   Scud should have hung on to his for another decade :)

Does he own it? If not, how can he sell it?

Only the person or entity that paid the import taxes etc on the ORIGINAL sale of the car can claim a credit for those taxes if the car were to be reimported at some point. Typical "double dipping" on taxes by the Australian Government

This of course means that if the car becomes worth a bazillion dollars 50 years after the first sale, the original owner is likely dead and the taxes will always have to be paid on reimportation. Hence so few of our big dollar collector cars ever come back once they leave our shores.

Correct.
The OHOS is of course overseas so Australian law is irrelevant in this case.

Not if it's sold by an aussie to someone is Aus.
