As I've often stated, I'm the worst DIYer I know, but I had to change the spark plugs in the 355 today..

Apart from getting a huge amount of back muscle fatigue (You really need to get used to that stuff), I was very proud at getting it done first go.

Big thanks to Carl Jones and Tim from Black Stallion for their advice.

Everything else had been tried, but there was a strange misfire at times...especially when cold.

With these new plugs, it now purrs like a kitten. If you want the plugs at a pretty good price, Bursons is the place I used.

Needless to say, I'm a very happy vegemite.

I know most of you pros will say "big deal"....but for me, it was.

I love my car. Buy your own

Did you take any pictures of said task?

Actually, well done.

Changing Plugs is not a simple task in some cases and a lot of poeple stuff it up. I have had plenty of cars over the years that required at least half a day of mucking around just to change Plugs.

But the Esprit is not one of them, it's a 5 minute job. I love my Esprit.

Wow... already? Wasn't it just serviced how many km ago?

Or was the service not a service.. just an oil change?

Well done pp. You're very clever.

As you know, I'm stupid. I asked Carl not to change the plugs. That was a mistake of mine.

It was well balanced out though with an admission of stupidity ;-)

LOL

I actually had no reason to believe, based on mileage, that they needed to be changed.

The truth is I experimented with something with the MoTec which made the plugs so wet that they never recovered.
Yet another mistake I won't make again. A bit like another mistake I made using a mechanic 10 years ago.

I was told taking them out and heating them on a gas flame might resurrect them, but for the sake of a couple of hundred bucks, I'd rather know it's all AOK for the new owner.

Now I just quickly have to clock up a few thousand km before he picks it up. Poor guy...he'll never know. Unless he reads this.

UHOH..
