you are a lying CUNT Hughes

no, you are, actually. And I look forward to our next meeting to remind you of your wrong doings.

You say how I said the "rust could snowball"

I DID NOT.

I said the REPAIR to the rusted chassis around the radiator, and the radiator itself "could snowball into a significant repair"... It's quite clear, and different to what you say now.... which COULD be called lying.

edit...here's the excerpt from the PPI...

"The radiator is leaking from the top tank seam. It may be repairable, but there is corrosion around the chassis rail support brackets for the radiator. This job could snowball into a significant repair.

Oh, and here's the good bit...

Here's some pics of PERFECTLY welded suspension bushes.... can you see the weld?... Click on the pic to enlarge, I've made them big especially for you.

NO, you cannot. THAT'S because they're hidden around the back, as per original.

You can only see them with a torch and mirror.

Also, your car had bushes that were not new, so attention was not drawn to them. if it had had shiny new bushes, I would have naturally looked to see that they had been installed correctly, but when you see aged but healthy bushes, the thought of looking around the blind side simply doesn't occur. It would be very reasonable to argue that if the bushes were not welded, they may have worn the control arms... BUT, they hadn't, DESPITE being in there for who know how long?

Now, regardless of what you THINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE PPI, what would be a reasonable reaction to what WAS IN the PPI... Go and buy the car immediately? Like you did?.... No, not reasonable at all.

Furthermore, your description of the gearbox you sold me was a major lie. major major lie. You should be ashamed of yourself. You completely covered up some very clear problems it had. Karma will get you though. It does to everyone eventually.

Enjoy the pics,

tata for now.  thumbsup

whatever I said, it doesn't matter.

The reaction to what I said is what matters....

I'm a grease monkey, I write like a grease monkey. If ANYONE expects ANY mechanic to write like a lawyer.... I suggest they give themselves an uppercut.

He bought the car so quickly I hadn't even got around to call him to follow up on the PPI, and he never called me upon receiving it.

. phil was given this car to sell. was his duty to moretti or the vendor?

errr, no I wasn't.

I had nothing to do with the sale, and gained nothing from it.

after reading this thread, and skipping through the bitching/back peddling/name calling.
I have come to a conclusion.

If you are going to buy a 30 year old car, and have NO IDEA about cars, expect the worst!
It is too easy to blame other mechanics on things that they SHOULD have picked up on.

I am a technician, and i get it ALL the time, mostly from free loaders who expect it all!!

The point i am getting at is that every workshop will bag out the other. Especially ferrari techs, they think they are all good.

Having problems with a certain car, and listening to what the current mechanic tells you does NOT make you a better, well informed mechanic. It just makes you more vulnerable next time you take it back to the same workshop, as they know that you will listen to only them.

I stumbled on a web page the other day that was bagging a mechanic. My initial thoughts were, wow, this guy is PISSED OFF. After reading it, it was apparent that this guy was a complete wanker who has too much time on his hands!!

From what i read, it did not merit that criticism, some people just have  get over themselves and realise we all make mistakes.

As i keep telling all these wannabee mechanics, a little knowledge is a bad thing!!
the math is simple, 30 year old car + bad servicing = problems.
