Nice to see some good old sleeve rolling and dirty hand action going on.

We try not to talk about that........it's better to just talk about his car repairs..........he's ok with that!  :p

Back to the original post - plural Melb. dealers - well there is only the one

Zags have done so in the past but believe to be by invitation & somewhat limited in to tours and the like. Perhaps forum members that have been can comment

Also the odd idie has open days, but seem to be few & far in between

The type of thing that Bill McGrath occasional does in the U.K. is probably what u are looking for

Hey, thanks for the reply. First off, I have nothing but nice things to say about Porsche, have had two myself and enjoyed them both. I have noticed that the AE site doesnt really see much traffic at all. FC sees traffic 24/7 and I do spend time on that but a large % of the guys are US based, which is nice but doesnt allow you to meet guys from Oz that easily.
AE needs a kickstart - come on guys.
AE has tons of traffic in the private sections. You will only get access once you meet one of us IRL and are vouched for.

Zagame has regular open days for the Ferrari Club.

Getting to meet you guys is like getting the keys to the playboy mansion though ! I tried a few months back to arrange a C&C in Melb but the thread was highjacked and it never happened. Keen to meet anyone thats about, I am in town in 2 weeks.

Yeah steak night (as good as it sounds) isnt much good for me as I am not in town. Keep me posted on anything in a couple of weeks though.

HAH!!!  You should own a Lotus then!!!!

The Esprit is in bits again!!! No sleep til Broken Hill!!!!!!!

lmao Mondi, that is the best "what people think pic" Ive ever seen..
most people make them up and at least one box will be a bit weak but that was spot on... Lotuses get a lot of attention on this site and I dont have a problem with that. If youre old and never fell in love with the Esprit because of Bond, youre not really a car guy.

As for Dealership Days, that would be something clubs organise in Australia rather than the dealers themselves. In the most part people on this site talk about who are the best workshops to use that aren't dealers. Dealers in Australia tend to be used more by people that buy exotics to look good rather than people that are really into cars. The people that are into cars look for the best people they can get to work on their cars whether its a mechanic, spray painter, detailer or some one that installs clear bra's. We tend to steer people away from the dealers and onto recommended independents on AE.

Yeah that kind of guidance, experience is always useful to be able to tap into. I just had a quote of $2700 from MM to change 4 springs, lower car and do wheel alignment !
