Since this car has been on sale for years now, why cant they just spray it a normal colour and piss it off ?  Are they trying to make it a collectable or something.

Not sure colour is its only problem.
Sellers traditionally seem to have problems in trying to shift V12 Ferrari's.
This is only my observation; V12 Ferrari's seem to take huge price reductions from the day it's driven out of the show room and appear to sit on Carpoint for a long time.

Any hint on why that would be the case?

Australias most saleproof car.

It's nothing more than a pricing problem.

agree... it should be repainted.

tricky to do the lamps though, and they're not cheap to buy, so a repaint could cost more than $20k to do it right...

car is already worth under $200k IMO as it's a paddle shift 575 in unpopular colour...

spending ~$20k to do a decent colour change, won't add any value, but may protect it from falling below $150k in the next 6 months

I test drove it as least 3 years back, it was on the market at about $350K asking then. Brave colour, but it looks awesome in the metal.
If a car looks gorgeous in orange in a pic, imagine how good it must look in the flesh !!
