.

i can slide and move my car around at will with it being perfectly predictable. get a little sideways with a wing and you lose a lot of downforce and off you go at high speed. you're talking rubbish.

well, one of us is.

A wing still works with #some# yaw, all you need is forward movement.  it's the underfloor aero that drops off with sliding/yaw as the ground is half of the aero surface.

yeah....right....ok

i got my info about what wings do when you go sideways from Jim Richards. It makes perfect sense that you'd know better than him. after all....your on track experience is much greater than his.

from his description of what happens, i'd say a novice driving a 355ch would be totally f'd up if he/she got a little sideways with a wing the size of a ch wing and the loss of downforce that would suddenly occur.

you're funny. you're happy to look  like a complete fool by talking such total rubbish just for the opportunity to disagree with me. at least i can stick to facts....you should try it. oh...wait...never mind.

I'd say you've mis-remembered what Jum told you....

or you're lying.

again.

A wing keeps some of it's downforce while yawing, a floor loses it more with less yaw.

And, a 355C wing is a small wing.... as a %, its downforce relative to the cars weight is small. The same size wing on a 800kg car would be considered larger.

You're simply being argumentative

again...

and an idiot

as always.

And your(tm) not?!?!?!?!?!

what can you say to someone who'd say it's safer to spear off a track at 220 than 185 if you make a mistake??

*sigh*

the wing's still ugly.

would it be safer to be doing 185 with a wing than 185 without....  :p

well....i was working on the assumption that with the wing you'd be going faster...otherwise you go no faster AND it's ugly!!

but definitely the wing gives more grip, so if you decided that 185 was turn one, then the wing would obviously do it easier.

I have to agree with FF.

If you are prepeard to spend money on R tyres to make up a few seconds a lap, then if the wing has a benefit you should use it or try it at least.

Ugly or not is another thing.  I do recall you with your PC PP at PI, looking at data etc.  Lap times were obviously what you were chasing (unless you were looking at www.bom.com.au lol.)  so perhaps you should have a go with the wing just to see what the benefit is.

I know I spent a fortune on trying to pick up tenths of a second here and there.  Anyway thats my 5 cents.  Lets see if I go -20. :D
