A must see video F40 v F50

Chris gets very excited. His driving impressions hit the nail on the head and confirm what I've always thought.

What sorts of idiots would sell cars like this?

At first it struck me as odd, but then it occurred to me upon watching videos of me drive how frequently I have to wipe my palms when driving reasonably hard. I think a good set of absorbant driving gloves might actually be useful for me to avoid that, so I can only assume he has a similar issue.

As for the video - I loved it, but I think it left more on the table than it showed.

I for one am very auralistic - or whatever. He kept saying how great the noise was - but they never featured it! C'monnnnn - I picked up better audio from 360C's F50 with my crappy 5MP digicam like six years ago. Sizzle sells the steak, sound sells the supercar.

I got quite tired of the sideways stuff - as mentioned long ago: http://aussieexotics.com/forum/cars/getting-tired-of-silly-car-reviews-1146.0.html

Sure, get a couple speccy shots, but really I want to see the thing out on the open road - and in traffic amongst "normal" cars, ie - where I would use one were the choice available to me.

My favourite part of sideways footage is always after an almost perfect TRACTIONED corner with *just* a little wiggle on the exit as the power goes down. Gives me goosebumps.

I could listen to Chris and (guest) ramble all night about cars. My favourite teevee show would be all our choice motoring personalities sitting around getting drunk talking about cars, with a little bit of nostalgia footage interjected when they mentioned it.

Chris has manned up - last time I watched one of his vids he was a fit but pudgy fella, now he looks like an ex-Marine. Cool.

Given the opportunity - why wasn't there a direct comparison? Or at least just a couple outright hardcore laps with no blah blah?

Not shitting on the vid, but it frustrated me more than anything by the missed opportunities than what was actually achieved.

The fluff/popcorn factor would likely plummet along with the Audience in my opinion if the video Ash was as serious as you'd wish it was. I think his style of journalism is a lot like the style of journalism employed by sports writers in that they just need to grab your attention and drop one or two nuggets into the content that you can recite later on down the pub with your mates.

'Yeah, the suspension in those f50's hangs off the motor like a proper race car'

'f50?? c'mon man the f40 is faster AND older'

Like that.
