Nah, just providing a stupid answer to a very stupid question.

Thanks for the compliment. :D

Blast fron, the past. I think a replica just drove past my place here in brisbane. Red with plates 250GT?
Looked like a replica but didn't get a good enough look to guess why?

Just received an email from the Qld Ferrari president about a 250 gto for sale at 57 million usd.

Same guy has had it since 1976.

He's written "The perfect gift. Lets make sure this car is purchased by a QLD Ferrari member."

Yeah right

Cars are petty cash compared to art works, some of which routinely sell for hundreds of millions of dollars. There is cross ownership between the 2 worlds, I see potential for higher prices yet.

A 250 GTO isn't even the potentially most expensive car. There are several factory owned cars in collections  that will never come to market. If they did they would surpass 250 GTO prices.

Sackey is drawing a pretty long bow comparing 250 GTO to 288 GTO  IMO.
A sale of a 250 GTO will have no flow on to the price of a 288.

I can agree with that, but he's definitely biased heavily towards the 288 GTO being the 'perfect car'.

And yes there will be cars that will fetch more, the main one that comes to mind is the 722 moss 300SLR. What are some other cars that would break the number? The 250 GTO is certainly unique in a sense that a car that numbers 30-40 odd can demand so much.
