Congrats.

So did you just snap the horse emblem off, or go at it with an angle grinder?   :D

It is mounted on a plastic post which is easily removed.  It's now in the glove box.

The car came from the factory with a mounting panel for the plate which goes where the horse is - I figured I might as well use it. :)

Yes it did look easily removeable to me...  wonder how many have already been stolen.    :scratchchin:

The mounting panel makes sense of the situation now.  Was it an afterthought for Aus market (and any other that needs front plate)?

It would be hard to steal.  It requires having the car on a hoist and removing a retaining nut via the back of the bumper bar.

I doubt it was an afterthough - most EU countries require a front plate.  The bracket is specifically designed for the car, but it will only fit if the horse is removed.

Or maybe the factory saw the results of leaving owners to their own devices....

Great photos Ash. Whilst I haven't really fallen in love with it yet, these are some of the best shots of a 458.
I have said it doesn't have a pretty angle but this one changed that.

Cheers man - but the car did all the heavy lifting - I just pick the framing, it'll be good once some of the real shutterbugs start getting it in the way of their lens to see what they can do with it.

Compared to the Lambos I've owned, the 458 has lighter steering, smoother drivetrain, is louder on Race setting(!), is more agile, has a hugely better gearbox, quicker steering, better seats, better brakes, better everything really.  To be fair, the newest Lambo platform is 7 years old and the Murci is running a 20 year old chassis.   Also, I haven't driven the LP560/550/LP so can't comment on that.

How could you not be in love with it, it's a work of art, it's every super model and exotic location in the world in a car, only the Italians could do it.

A hard on on wheels :D
