(Note FF - no shot at you here - you seem to have locked in the hours for the jobs being discussed)

what do you mean "locked in" ??

even those fixed price menu's show how much cheaper belts are for 360 than 355...

DK don't even offer a belts only option for 355.... see how much more it costs?????....

I really don't see how Pless has disproved my argument that 360's are cheaper to "belts service" than 355's.

I don't understand how some people charge more for just "servicing" a 360 than a 355..... Maybe it's just a "what the market will pay" mentality.... but in my experience, 360's are cheaper.

I frequently service and repair both, and 355's always consume considerably more time in repairs and servicing than 360's.

355's are much cheaper to do clutches on though. As labour is very small for that on 355.

edit....

I think I've worked it out.... many shops charge a fee for using the SD2 computer to carry out some service procedures, as they have to recoup their massive (~$20k+) investment in the SD2.

I don't.

355's take longer to check/change spark plugs, due to the cam cover design.

355's have 1 or 2 fuel filters to change. 360's don't need them doing, ever. They're inside the tank and good for life.

Air filters are the same time, but 360 filters are cheaper.

It takes a little longer to get the floor off and on a 360, but not much.

360's are slightly quicker to change engine and gear oil, as access is easier. Oil filter is same part, slightly trickier to change on 360.

you're ridiculous.

you brought up the whole thing!!

my original comment was that the cost difference btwn the two cars was within $1000.00. you quoted it from fchat and started crapping on about it.

of course a 360 is cheaper to change the belts on every 5 years.....but not by the many thousands of dollars that people like you would make us believe. sadly for you, the truth is now out there.

Apart from that they're similar enough (apart from the clutch, which is a doozie on the 360!!)

oh that reminds me....I was talking to a customer of yours about changing cam belts on 308s. I felt so sorry for the poor bugger. he'd been so totally sucked in by your claims about it that he's obviously going to be milked by you for life.

all I'm saying is that you're wrong to say they are within $1000 of each other for a belts service, becasue, they are not.

They are not "many" thousands apart either, and nor have I claimed that.

So, in all 3 instances, you are wrong.

as for the 308 owner...

well, all I can say is that just "perhaps" he thinks you're full of shit, and that he KNOWS what I charge him to do jobs.
