Its not a subject ,i would enter into ,as its a real quick way of getting one off-side with many Bugatti and W.0.Bentley owners.
its the old grandfathers axe handle story......

That's ok RB, I was just asking as you said prewar.  I love the bugs and there are some good examples here.

There are also some bugs here from Argentina which were manufactured postwar.   ;)

I think there will be a bit of both at the concour, the Pursang cars in the eyes of the Bugatti club receive ,club plates /chassis numbers .
Its not unusual for a Bugatti to have part stamped ie a front axle to gain a chassis plate as per the club.
W.O.Bentley cars many no longer have there orginal chassis, but still carry there chassis number on.
Pre-war cars in my eyes are the bees knees.....love 'em.

A lot of pre-war Bugs run pursang gear.
The Pursangs are good value at 250k plus.
I think the Alfa's which there is a couple in Richmond are about 500k.
I know of a local built MG k2 (3) that owes its owner 400k

I have no problem whatsoever with replicas as long as they are well executed and not misrepresented as the real thing.
When that happens I have a big problem as it's fraud and the motivation is always money.

could not agree more.
Only reason I've never bought a Brabham race car from the US.
I know of one local Brabham that has sisters x 2 overseas.....ouch.
A lot of people knock replicas....most of those people could not afford to purchase one let alone run one.

I know a guy who bought one. Couldn't afford to buy it or maintain it, really. Seriously, why would one bother?
I love my car. Buy your own
