It goes well because he's driving it. No other reason. Mechanical advance is unreliable and changes with wear and tear and temperature.

Mine has 270hp. It goes well too, but I STILL know it'd go better and smoother and even use less fuel with the BSM system I had on my GT4. It's just how it is.

Partly correct.

I drove it with std advance. It was ok. Then I re calibrated the advance. It made much more torque and the advance wont need any work for 5 years or maybe 25000 km. Even then it'll probably be ok.

No idea how much power it has but I'd say probably less than 270bhp.
Its faster than yours was when I knew it. Not sure of course what you've done since.

I dont believe that if you put same tyres on yours it would do the same lap time as brett, even if he or you drove both. We'll probably never know.

Sigh...

Any camshaft driven advance system varies a lot.

If you want truly accurate system, you need crank triggered from the largest possible diameter like a late injected 308 system.

Just checked out the ICE website and noticed that their US prices are  much lower than their Aussie price, even when you include GST.  Interesting marketing strategy for an Australian company.

Bigger margin for the local mechanics :)

Theres no need or point (pun intended) in listening to you.

And you're projecting. Again.

Yes mike. ICE is a little expensive retail. But he does reasonable deals. Thats why I posted the pic of his details.

The back up service he provides is great. I've asked him a hundred awkward questions and he comes through every time.

The targa car I run has mechanical advance still. And it has stayed within tolerance and required no repairs to ignition since it went electronic 4 years ago.

Prior to that it did 7 targas on points. Without problem.

Neither BSM nor ICE is needed if you're happy to take care of things super regularly.

Pp has his knickers in a twist for no good reason as always.

I'm not a DIYer, i'm afraid.

I have my knickers in a knot about nothing.

I've seen the variation with springs and weights with my own two eyes. and you saying different can only be another SSP.

Higher voltage and nothing to adjust or maintain EVER with the BSM AND you can put in whatever ignition curve you like......there's just no more need be said. None of that applies to the system you're touting.

Even if you were right, and of course you're twisting things... you touting the BSM system and me touting the ICE system is different how?

Hypocrite.

ICE can install it for you. I'm just a very happy customer if theirs as you are if the BSM.
