FERRARI LAUNCHES ITS FASTEST EVER OPEN TOP CAR

Ferrari has used the celebrations for its victory in the 2008 Formula 1 Constructor’s Championship, the Ferrari World Finals, to launch its fastest ever open top car, the Scuderia Spider 16M, with its name flagging Ferrari’s 16th manufacturer’s title win.

Based on the Ferrari 430 Scuderia launched last year, just 499 examples of the Scuderia Spider 16M will be produced, aimed at Ferrari’s most passionate, loyal customers who demand the unique combination of exclusivity and the remarkable driving experience that on Ferrari can offer.

The Scuderia Spider 16M is available in a choice of two new signature colour schemes: the standard version is black with grey trim, while a tri-colour livery is also available as part of the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme. The new car also sports a special plaque on its rear grille commemorating Ferrari's 16th Constructor's World title. The exclusivity of the interior is underscored by the silver "limited series" plaque just above the air vents at the centre of the dashboard. Other exclusive features include a roll-bar with carbon-fibre outer shell and a specific new generation audio system that can be combined with the removable customised Ferrari iPod Touch 16 GB with central dock just in front of the dashboard.

From a technical point of view, this car has a dry weight of 1340 kg, which is 80 kg lighter than the standard F430 Spider. This, combined with the 375.4 kW provided by its V8 engine and a power-to-weight ratio of 2.6 kg/hp, means that it delivers blistering 0-100 kmh acceleration in just 3.7 seconds and a superb top speed of 315 kmh.  This, combined with the most advanced chassis ever produced by Ferrari, makes it’s the fastest convertible to ever lap Ferrari’s own test track, Fiorano.

The Scuderia Spider 16M is probably Ferrari?s most hardcore convertible ever with a powerful V8 engine that delivers 510 HP at an incredible power to weight ratio of 2.6 kg/hp. The exclusive car will be produced in just 499 units with breathtaking performances: it could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 315 km/h. Lucky rich guys could snag one of these truly evocative special series cars from Ferrari, but even though there will be only 499 units produced, some customers will still want to make their car stand out from the crowd and Novitec Rosso got a solution for that. It?s not official yet, but you know everything is revealed faster on the internet and a couple of pictures with the Novitec Rosso Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M appeared today. The well known Ferrari tuner made a full tuning package for the powerful convertible and it seems they managed to add a lot of horses under the hood.

They installed twin superchargers and their version of the 16M should have 696 HP, 186 HP more than the original car. From what we see in these pictures the car also received a couple of new body elements that make it look more aggressive and NF3 wheels custom painted. We?re waiting for official details from Novitec Rosso and more pics with this incredible car.
