well today i drove the 328 and the GT4.

i think the 328's faster, but amazingly (to me) i think i actually prefer the GT4.

whilst the 328 has a nice exhaust note due to the tubi, the GT4 has a lovely induction noise....but...

the GT4 has a nicer driving position and much more room!......SO much more room.

oh well...i should just consider myself lucky to have the choice i guess.

I've heard several sources of similar ilk - Cliff's Notes being 308/328 being the better car overall, but the GT4 being more sporty and enjoyable.

Could you see yourself (or anyone else) using a GT4 as a daily driver?

Outside of 25+ degree days most definately.  I'd have no hesitation owning and driving one between April and September, the rest of the year it's useless.

Personal I suppose - I hate the heat, in fact I'm not a fan of anything over 20 degrees.

I've been driving almost nothing but 30 year old Italian cars this millenium, and as fun as they are, I hate them when it's anything approaching "warm".  I remember last summer getting in and out of goob's 360CH and then in and out of my turbo X and realised his car is actually more comfortable and convenient than mine. :?

I find it strange your 328 isn't CLEARLY faster than your GT4.

Also strange how you said it wasn't much better than the other 328 you've driven.

I think there must be some kind of problem with your 328 engine.

Get the exhaust gas analysed. Most likely thing to be wrong is cam timing on one bank. One or more  sprocket tooth out is easy to do when changing belts, yet tricky to feel for if you don't have lots of relevant experience.

I once found a 328 with one exhaust cam (it'll be the 5-8 bank, always is) 4 teeth out. Each tooth is 12 degrees I think... so one cam was 48 degrees out.. it idled kind of ok, and went kind of ok... The owner had driven it that way for years. He couldn't believe the difference when he got it back.

I agree about the driving position. GT4 are so comfy... Only a 512BB is more comfy IMO. Yeah, gotta have the AC working though.
