ok....i'm looking at the workshop manual carl's given to me.....

HP
US 260
CH 255
Standard 270 all at 7000rpm

Torque
US  289nm
CH  275nm
standard  304 all at 5500rpm

so i'm guessing mine's the 'standard' engine.

what's in the aussie one?

You can't 100% trust shop manuals.

a CV is not a BHP for starters, and there are simply very many mistakes and mis-informations in them.

Get together with Cisco and his cousin/mate whoever drives the UK GTS...  That one goes pretty well.

And the other GTB "almost" stayed with my TR for a short while.... but ultimately got left behind. An Aussie 328 would be a dot in the mirror in a moment.

hmmm. Well, I've driven  several aussie cars and a couple of swiss ones, and maybe 30 or more different  UK 328's...

The difference is huge. massive. clear. obvious.

Or, should be.

yep you're right.

the thing with a 308, i think, is that it's over carbied..that is at low revs a small throttle movement is almost full throttle...push further and it seems to make no difference. with the 328 at low revs, it's much more linear.

what i DID find is that give the throttle a good jab on each car and the 328 REALLY gets a wriggle on that the 308 doesn't.

i'll see if i can get a drive of an aussie one this week to compare, but compared to the 308, definitely more grunt when you put the foot into it.

not that it really matters....on the carby run today i didn't get over 5000rpm or 3/4 throttle...so i don't think the 328 would have got there any quicker...and i DO love the carby intake noises.

driving the 328 tomorrow again. i seem to prefer whichever car it is that i'm driving at the time.  *weird*
