No shortage of F40's for sale in the UK.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/20/F40/

The background of this F40 looks a bit like the abused F50 from YouTube aka taxtherich!

Apart from the dodgy types selling them, the hardest part is locating a real car, in great condition with all the tools etc, service history and great provenance. Read my F50 thread to see what came with the cars originally. Very, very, very few cars retain all that today and it's near impossible to put together later on. Remember total number made in the first place was circa 380 units. Almost all buyers want sub 5000km virgin cars too. If I was to try and replace my old F50 today it would be almost impossible to find one as good as the one I sold.

Sad to see someone lose their F40, it's not like losing a 458 where you can replace it any day of the week with 20 different examples to choose from. If it's who I think it might be, he would be devastated :(

If you're thinking who I'm thinking, I hope it isn't too.

I love my car. Buy your own

WW2 aircraft were my first great passion many years ago.

BF 109. Werke no 10333. Was shot down in Russia in 1944. Pilot died in crash. Lived 1km from its crash site until 1990 when we purchased.

Was in "original" condition, then restored by my brother and sold to a private collector in Italy.

I will scan some old photos of the various aircraft we have restored and sold over the years. 9 in total now.

There are many German warbirds for sale in old USSR regions. Some are hard to verify but normally the condition is their authenticator.

Would love to see some photos, especially the BF 109 10333.
I presume it was stored properly somewhere for the 56 years it was in original condition?

If you're thinking who I'm thinking, I hope it isn't too.

And if it isn't, Condor Man might have been inadvertently saved by missing out. There are some very questionable F40's kicking around Oz.

+1 and pics of the other 8 planes.  I've saw quite a few 109s in Germany a couple if years ago including a couple at a Luftwaffe air base.

There are, but I'm sure he'd have had it checked out first.

Not as easy or straightforward as you might imagine.

Yes it is who you are thinking and although I was advised it need $50k spent on it. I factored in $100k to ensure that the car would have been Mickey Mouse!!
May the Horse be with you....
