There's no doubt having some kind of shifting mechanism near the wheel is a good idea. Hang on, why don't we do it with paddles. They can be made to feel just like, um, paddles.

FF, can I get some of that stuff you are smoking?

Lambo egear and F355/360/430 are just 4 rail H pattern shifters with external operation and no clutch pedal BUT DO HAVE a normal clutch, which is operated hydraulically by computer..

Gallardo GT3 race car is true sequential with pneumatic shift paddle operated, WITH a clutch pedal (only used to move off, NEVER used once driving).

458 and other PDK are twin clutch shifters.... where 2 gears are engaged at the same time (preselected by your driving style), but the drive is isolated from one shaft by one of the clutches... when you change gear in PDK/458, you DON'T actually change gear at all, all you're doing is swapping clutch.

reproduced shift feel (adjustable)

Sorry i just read this as fake.

For a normal driver in a normal car, i want a manual with clutch and gearstick.

If you want to start talking about reproductions and replications go boink a tranny and tell me if it feels the same as the real thing

Because driving with paddles is no more exciting than driving a Play station.

You're clearly a road car guy.....

racers have needs....  :tilt:

that's because it IS fake.... even though it actually works.

I like fake boobs too, AND they work

very good point. I agree totally.

However, it's not ME that wants to use a stick! It's other people creating the market!

if you can't learn 'em, feed 'em!

id assume the gt3 is pretty brutal with the shifts? not using a clutch for gear changes, does this effect longevity of the clutch, and gearbox?

Then leave it that way, as disconcerting as it is to have Ferrari not offer manuals I'd rather a good paddle system over a compromised system that lets you feel like its manual without being manual.
