Aha, I see now.  Hey, I never said you were wrong about the thermostat!  It behaved beautifully yesterday on the way home.  Also this morning, no problem, but up in the hills it played up today.  The problem was I couldn't see the temp gauge because the steering wheel was in the way!  Anyway, I'll have a look at it over the weekend.  Clutch feels nice but it's still a bit fluffy below 1,500 rpm.  Might check all the leads, throw some plugs at it and check the mixture, unless there is anyhting else you think it might be?  The P.O. put some new injectors in it this year, so I hope its not that.

Carl.

It's not plugs or leads as the misfire is only at low loads and only sometimes.

The fluff is injector inefficency... the way it starts up on 6/7/8 cylinders is as the seats unstick themselves/spray pattern stabilises...

Even though it has new injectors, they're not spraying correctly for some reason.

Could be fuel head or pipe related BUT IT IS NO WAY BAD ENOUGH OR CONSISTENT ENOUGH TO WARRANT ANY EFFORT OR EXPENDITURE.

You have been told ;)

Just stick it on gas analyser and read HC/CO. Tune it to 1.2CO and ~150-200 HC at 80 deg C oil @ 1000rpm (true) and drive it.

OK, ta Filly, I'll bring it out (Again) next week LOL!

Car felt quick today after a good thrashing and after getting the brakes to smell pretty bad, have a nice firm pedal now too!  The funny thing in a GTS is all the smells you get, including the front brakes!

Well, I couldn't, so I didn't  ;)

Nice 308 GTB Qv of David's I have to say.

Yes, it felt sprightly when I drove it too.

Not as fast as a UK 328 though, but easily as fast as an AU 328.

Actually the funny thing I found in Moretti's was that there is like a cushion of hot air a few mm thick coming from the radiator up and over the windscreen - on a bracing morning it actually warms your melon a bit! :p

Well, that's exactly what I would have thought too.  I don't know if anyone has any video of today (Stu??) but if there is, you will see at one stage the Qv exiting the corners and going through 3/4 gear and the 328 GTB behind not gaining on it at all under accelleration.
