Define misfire?? Is it like you have the pedal to the floor and the car still sound the same, but you are going nowhere??

this car had a single cylinder misfire.

Sounds like you have one bank out... which would be symptomatic of throttle pot fault.. most likely just wiring/connector.

But COULD b a number of things.

Air flow meter also strong chance, or throttle body connection... SD2 plug in will get you close to fault, but don't believe what it tells you regarding fitting new parts, it's most likely a wiring/connector problem.

Could also be knock sensor, cam phase sensor blah blah blah...

Not necessarily. Some faults are not flagged by the system.

Even if you pull a coil off (but not disconnect it) , the car won't know it has a problem for example.

Would it happen so irregular though?? And only after it's been driven for a while?? Has never happened when car is cold...

temperature raises resistance in electrical things, which is why I'm more sure that's your problem.

also, gear thing would mak sense cold/hot... slave seals get sticky when hot, not cold. there's been at least 4 seal upgrades...

maybe clutch is dragging or sticky spigot bearing in crank.

reverse gear has weak synchro, others are strong.
