Just so everyone is clear, get an independent PPI done on your next second hand Ferrari, and not by the mechanic who's been working on it. Don't take anyone's word for anything.

I only do mechanical.

All body and interior stuff I pay like anyone else, and its that that costs the most.

Obviously, a PPI is highly recommended. But there are circumstances that change things.

Property people don't always get property inspected by a 3rd party, guitar experts don't always get guitars inspected, art collectors trust their own judgement, antique collectors and on and on..

This is not rocket science.
