A simple question, yes or no answers, are all that's needed.

If it's yes all the way, then fair enough.

Personally Id only PPI a car that I cant inspect myself. In the end if you want the car and have to money to fix things that could go wrong you just buy it anyway. Everyone is told to keep 10k spare for anything that might go wrong. I bought my two Fcars with only me going over them and theyve been great. Ive bought all of my cars in my life with only me going over them and Ive never bought a lemon. It helped having a stepdad that was an excellent mechanic to teach me as I grew up.  A car can PPI as perfect and still have a major problem the first time you drive it. A PPI only lowers the risk in the end. It doesnt remove it.

Errrr. ... bingo

Still seeing a gigantic conflict of interest in this particular case though.

I dont see any... Its up to the buyer what he wants to do. In this case there is no repsonsibility on the go between. Its always up to the buyer. If you have the intelligence to afford a $100k car you should have the intelligence to inspect it yourself or have it inspected independently.

This isn't just a go between. Never mind. You're missing the point.

You sure youre not missing the point? If Carl rcommended a car to you and you want to buy it would you just take his word. If you did and there was a problem would it be the sellers fault, Carls fault, or your own fault?
