but personally the white lines webbed over the car do distract a bit.

Good observation ;) Impressive!

The car's an import, the front was damaged at the docks by a forklift. The front bar got resprayed but they didn't replace the start of the stripe.
i had one.

he could make a sticker, though at very close inspection you could tell it was a sticker, and not painted. at 6 ft away no issues, and IMHO would look better than like it is at the moment.

Or we could get him to prove it's not a sticker by taking a pocket-knife to it hahahahaah  :D

AS THE BUYER YOU NEED TO PAY FOR THE CAR, TAXES, TRANSPORT COSTS ETC......THE PRICES ARE A VERY CLOSE ESTIMATE OF YOUR FINAL COST.......WE WILL NOT IMPORT A CAR ON SPEC. IT MUST BE PAID FOR ALONG THE WAY.

Buyer beware: luxury car tax (LCT) may apply to these cars up to 2 years after the vehicle compliance date.  So, with the LCT now at 33%, few of the cars listed in that ad would be wise purchases.

Eg. the 360CS @ $279,900:
LCT Payable:  $66,816.00
Vehicle Price (including LCT):  $346,716.00

... which is >$35k more expensive than their quoted $310k price for the "cheapest" 360CS in Australia.

Plus, that's not taking into account any probable reduction in resale value because its a private import.

Does anyone know if these cars would qaulify for any exemption from the LCT or any other taxes?

I don't think it is a case of "may" apply, I think it is "will" apply.

The old 50 Cadillac that came in last year was valued by customs at $80k so it was hit with LCT and it's over 50 years old now.

You're right - it's just a lawyer's habit of never saying anything in absolute terms unless you have to

Ouch!  So you had to pay about $15k for LCT and GST?
