Oh... have I got a story for you then. I'll find THOSE pictures tomorrow. All I can say is I know where you're coming from man  :)

One more story more in line with the UBER 355 demise.

Picking up the Countach from the panel shop...getting some resto work done on it. (see pics of finished article on the forum)

Start the car...go inside the office to settle the bill (i could have bought another BMW)

go outside...chatting with the guys.

Suddenly smoke starts pouring out of the engine.

Luckily the engine cover was up.

Quickly stop the engine.

Panel beaters rag cloth had fallen on the exhaust manifold and had caught on fire.

Luckily I always warm these things up before driving!

Geehbus. How is it that I'm the one with a burnt out shell then?

Deano, you're clearly a lucky chap.

Seriously though - I'm pondering whether having a 'set' of older supercars is the smartest thing - again, we've joked a lot about stuff blowing up, falling off, catching on fire and gently exploding - however there is a lot more drama with these cars and it's all funny till someone gets hurt.
C'mon, do it!

It can happen with the later ones too, remember the 458 fires ?

Yep  I got home on Saturday, had a drink and thought how lucky am I?

The "Single Nut" Testarossa bolt is the size of a can of coke.
I found it that day...it went flying across the freeway and could have caused an accident  or hurled across the freeway into someones windscreen.

If the wheel came off, it would have been a projectile as well and could have jumped the barrier into oncoming traffic.

The rear of the car would have dragged along the ground, sparking a fire, me losing control and kaboom!

But my biggest fear is the Countach, if it rolls in an accident, you won't open those scissor doors  and it will definitely catch fire.

After all is said and done, comment of the day goes to...

That's an extreme way to make a 355 look like a 458.

Shit never thought of that, that would also apply to the SLS and Lambos.
