but do they sound any good? i was talking with some of the boys the other day...we all love the carby noises on the early 308s, but we'd never heard an exhaust that's any good.

For carb cars, the best sound IMO is the original ansa aports exhaust... which has since been copied in stainless by several companies... Most practical to us here in Oz, is the Mille Miglia brand. I've fitted several of them and they are good all round value/looks/sound and fit.

For QV/UK 328. Again, the ansa in good condition is great... Morettis car has/had a fucked one, and it didn't sound right as the baffles were shot too... but they normally sound nice... But the 308's always sound like 4 cyl cars... But a good Escort BDA for example sounds great, and thats what a good 308 exhaust can sound like.

I once fitted a Borla system to a 308... it was utter crap in EVERY regard EXCEPT sound... it created a higher pitch screamy noise, but it did this by restricting the pipe sizes down at the manifolds.... power was lost, but it did sound nice... fitted shit and cost a fortune too.

(plus he has a mate with one for sale)

I think it's sold. Theres at least 3 hot buyers that I know of (and I'm not selling it) , but you know who I'd prefer to complete the deal first....

Currently "speculatively" getting the rear shelf panels dry cleaned while the seat belts are being changed for new... as he said he didn't like the slight stains on them

Because Oz 328's are too slow and sound awful.

Maybe I should expand on this further too..

I proposed to my now wife while driving a swiss spec 328 around Donington... a swiss 328 is the same as an Oz one, except LH drive..

and, despite this significant memory and life changing moment... I have absolutely no desire to ever own an Oz 328. or a swiss one.

They're just not fast enough nor make the right noises.
