That's bizarre, surely seal rollback stops the pad chatter? 



No. Piston Seal roll back CAUSES the pad chatter. If there were no roll back, the pads would drag slightly and it'd be quiet.

The piston seals pull the pistons back a bit, but as the pads have no springs or clips to tension them within the caliper like road brakes, they hang free in the caliper space, then the disc turns past and flicks them against the step plate.

And, thanks for the help with the clutch today, it felt fab on the way home.  Temperatures was more normal too after I bled all the air from the radiator too!
