Rob... that's not even trying to be gold.

That colour, believe it or not is called BLUE Zinc passivication(but is of course just silver)... I know, seems funny now.... but ask Carl888. I took him to my plater THIS WEEK (as I dropped off another batch) to go through all this.
forget the colour Phil, its CAD plated.
I thought you said it was illegal now.

If it is CAD plated, it was done illegally.

I'll bet it's passivication, if you re-ask your supplier to confirm.

The term/phrase CAD plating, has become part of terminology, incorrectly.

I know of one place that was doing CAD illegally until mid 2006, but they don't any more.

And whilst you are getting personal you are a so called Ferrari specialist that pimps calipers.

If you ever experience nitrogen embrittlement, and/or have to replace your calipers for new.... you'll see what good sense and value a light paint is.

Those dino calipers are $2k USD on ebay... and I suggest you buy them for back up.

you could, and I suggest you do if you want to be as original as possible.

But THAT colour has faded a bit.... it's been oxidising for 20 years. It even says so.

That's 100% correct... you won't.

Research it, and then give them the correct advice.

I do.

Heres a brand new bling thing from superformance.

Their parts are considered original worldwide, in the eyes of almost all judges.

Looks gold to me! :)
