The idea for my purchase is to write it off under business...
Your probably think well than you can throw another $40k for a $120k Ferrari.

The answer.. I'm still a little fish in the pond :( I do not want to 'Over do it' so to speak..

Nope.

Have the money ready, you won't get finance, and go calling all sellers of 360, even ones asking as much as $120k.

Agreed, however you would be able to get a chattel mortgage from your bank that is tax deductible.

I had a guy call me a few weeks ago crying because he canít sell his car, it was overpriced for the market at the time or it would have sold, I offered him a fair price at the time. A few months have passed now he is willing to sell for less than I offered him... I'm going away from 360's now with my 458 project so I could not help the guy.

Yes but the 360 has only mantinance to spend money on. Say over 3 years 25k as a worst case sinario.

The merc will depreciate 40k in the same 3 years. There is no amg that does not depreciate massively.

Yes the majority. The lower priced ones like the C63 and ML63 have decent resale.

I guess that is 1 advantage of the 360, if probably wont move on its current value and if it does it wont be by much.
Given that they are also influenced on their UK price, one would think they could even firm a bit of the AUD falls lower

exactly, as I said, in the UK, currently CS are SELLING for more than they cost new, (around 135k pounds) and Modenas have firmed to well into 50k GBP territory, and even beyond, for very good ones.

The dollar has steadied at around 58p lately, so if the usual 6 months or so of delay happens as normal, we could see 360s in oz creeping back up to around 150k again???????

You will start to see a few cheaper 360ís as the service levels drops off because owners can't spanner them properly and canít afford dealer prices. Genuine history cars will still hold good value as time goes on.

when you say "genuine history"

Lets be clear that "dealer history" does usually increase chances of sale, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, don't expect it to mean the car is better, or even as good as, a car serviced outside the dealer network.

Any history older than around 5 years is utterly utterly meaningless in regard to current condition, make sure the car has done healthy mileage recently, with recent history to support it, in order to feel easy about getting any nasty surprises.

a little, but not much.

The biggest differences are the version of f1 software, with 99 being considered least desirable as PIS (clutch) value can not be adjusted manually, the rest so so until 2003 or later which are ok.

And headlamps, early cars have halogen basic lamps, the xenon are better. identifiable usually by whther or not the car has lampwash or not. xenon has wash.

Otheriwse, to all intents and purposes, they're all the same, in a non identical way.

A genuine car with true history and fully documented with recepts that are kept in a folder, a purist /fanatical car owner is what Iím talking about. Being a Ferrari specialist would put an independent service workshop in the dealer category.

The other significant difference, is seats.

If you're short, you'll probably need a later car that had electric seats as standard. Early manual seats don't go high enough for shorties to see.
