No mechanicing is rocket science.  But nor is shoeing a horse.

The scope for human error causing tens of thousands of damage,  not to mention months of repairs is huge.

Most experts charge around $1200 for 360 cambelts. With another $800 ish for tensioners, swing arm bushes and numerous other pit falls.

Best tip is to get friendly with your local f mechanic. Ask to watch or help him.

Trying it at home as a novice is foolish.

Yes you MIGHT get away with it.

The pensioners are tricky to set and require special knowledge not in any manual I've seen.

There have been several part updates that need to be checked and verified.

In short... its a job for someone with product knowledge.

Some of us are happy to share it though.

But it would be foolish to try to write all potential traps out.

seems you like reliability.....might be an issue when purchasing a 360.
You really need to have the right gear to service the Ferrari though, well a hoist is a must.....then you need patience

The 360 will be a toy that will only be used on sunny weekends. So yeah reliability have to be factored in. I don't expect Lexus reliability from the Ferrari far from it. BUT if its going to constantly going let me down I'll go back and get a Porker 911 turbo.

Thanks for your heads up. I've change my father XJR timing chain guides and it was abit of a pain. On the early XJR supercharger V8 the chain guides are made of plastic and are known to fail. The newer ones are all metal chain guides.

The problem with the 4litre V8 is that there are no markings on the cam sprocket, and you need a special tool to lock the cam sprocket in place before the chain guides (upper and lower) can be replace. Purchase the special tool from Jaguar for $400.00 and only used it once.  I manage to sell the tool to someone else who needed it and recoup some coins.

Btw, there is only one über......be careful how you use that name around here, could get a visit from a highly tattooed man smelling of baby vomit :)

I do feel a bit ripped off.

New person. Who are you and why are you Uber?
