Buy a $600K new car and repaint it?  Not for me.

The standard yellow looks great and is more durable anyway.

Yeah; but I'm nuts. What can I say ;)

Ta. Wouldn't want to pay the $40k for the pearl and $19k for the stripe that Ferrari want; but about $25k for both done locally is tempting.
Some more shots on F Chat too.

$2k paint and materials...

$23k Labour! Really!

They could do it for $15k and make decent money.

New car prep is like a day off for a panel beater.

You understand it's a triple layer pearl paint finish right? Car disassembly and reassembly, 3 paint layers, wet sanding to perfection. Then hand masked and painted stripe, more sanding and clear coat, more sanding and polishing to perfection. It's not a replica sticker slapped on the top. Final result is in a different quality universe to the shit Ferrari pumps out.
I know you and Rohan can't stand each other; but gee

I'm well aware you can do a piss coat for $5 or $6k; but that's not my style.

$20k minimum for a proper paint job. And that's not including doing repairs first.....

My favoured painter that was killed last year was a custom and hot rod specialist. His work makes mainstream painters like Rohan and many others look amateur.

And my numbers are correct for an honest job.

Profiteering is fine if customers don't object I guess.

It sucks he got killed.

But there are some real artisans out there still, that charge fairly for incredible work.

25%  :p

A line description error and mistake, explained.

And anyway, I think you'll find he saved a LOT more than that!

Sometimes I guess maybe. Most quote job prices and do what it takes.

Rohan quoted me once on a job $65k. I got it done quicker and better elsewhere for less than half.

The annoying thing is that even the highest priced ones have very variable quality.

I'll not share some ripper stories, but it would make your eyes bleed.

The other annoying thing us how some people pinch pennies, and squander thousands.
