Yeah saw it on the Bowden's site the other day:

http://www.ecurieinvestments.com.au/1965-mk1-ford-gt40-chassis-p-1034

Quote
1965 MK1 Ford GT40, Chassis P 1034
Exceptional car with a clean history and a massive spare parts package.

    * 289 Windsor V8.
    * Correct ZF Manual.
    * Correct Pine Green with Silver stripes.
    * Australian Duties paid.
    * 1 of 1 in Australia.

$2.5 Million AUD
Status: Inventory

But the "1 of 1 in Oz" thing... what does that mean?  I don't know much about these cars, but Waz's mate has an original too, maybe this is a special version, no idea.

Maybe they mean only RHD... I only had a quick scan of the article and didn't see any details relating to LHD or conversion.

There are at least 2 other original GT40's in Australia including the car Rob Sherrard has raced previously in Classic Adelaide. And they're both RHD, as most were.

Ripped from an article in the weekend Tiser a couple of weeks ago on the car.

[quote]It was bought from Britain but Mr Bowden does not want to see it heading back to Europe, partly because it is the only fully original Mark 1 in Australia and is unlikely to be replaced.

"It's the only one in the country. To get one overseas and bring it back would be incredibly expensive - probably around $3million, with taxes and everything." Mr Bowden says."

thats up there with McLaren F1 stuff...............and its still only a Ford with a pushrod donk and a windsor one at that........Cleveland IMO always had the better V8 motor, but if I knew everything they wouldnt be able to afford me
Meeting women on the Internet? Remember, the more similarities u “magically” have, & the more she agrees with u, the fucking crazier she is.

How much more value can these things gain? As Goober said, "it's still a Ford with a pushrod Windsor". 2.5 million will buy you alot of very, very nice cars but I guess if you already have those cars, it would be a nice addition.
