mmmm not much money around eh ?

There is still plenty of money around, but those cars (except for the 360) are not worth massive money, at those km's and knowing they have lived a life of being thrashed, scratches, dents, worn interiors ect... They are not desirable examples of the cars.

P platers, they have no idea, they just think JDM cars are cool. They probably get most of their sales from advertising on youtube

IT'S hard to keep a low profile when you're 213cm tall and a millionaire sports star to boot.

But that's just what Australian basketballer Andrew Bogut was doing on Monday night when he turned up to bid at the auction of the most expensive Australian-made car in history.

The vehicle in question - a 2002 HRT 427 Coupe - one of only two ever made, sold two years ago for a whopping $920,000.

It had no log book, no owner's manual, not even a spare key, and with a top speed of 299km/h it can't be registered in NSW.

Not that it mattered much to Bogut, who is based in the US on a five-year, $75 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team. The 25-year-old pushed bidding to $305,000, but the car was passed in after it failed to meet reserve.

It is understood Bogut, who has said his biggest dream outside basketball was simply "to have a huge car collection", is now negotiating for the prized wheels.

The car was one of more than 20 Holdens, Fords and Chevrolets put up for auction by Queensland businessman Shawn "Chooka" Ryan. Two companies with which Mr Ryan was associated have been placed into receivership.s associated have been placed into receivership.

Ive got the prices scrawled down for the "Muscle Car" auction. Will try and make sense of my writing and then post them up.
