IIRC Citizen had the Eco-Drive charging system and Seiko had the Kinetic which was similar to what you are talking about.

Nope, can you imagine, wherever you go the watch will check you in on Facebook, text to voice and voice to text for twitter.  GPS tracking, big brother is just around the corner.

Well there you go.  Bit behind the times here.  Most of my watches are old design stuff that need winding if not worn. :)
