Just upgraded to this (below) apparently, 100 mps instead of the 30 mps I get now.

Cost usually $249 to set up plus $10 extra per month, reduced to $149 set up.

New modem/wireless router, installed next week.

bah... the fastest I can get at home is 480kb/s :(  apparently it's restricted to the setup at the exchange within the apartment building... grrrr

What sort of exchange equipment would they have in the Apartment building???? Normally there is only a passive distribution frame unless you have a Multiplexed line.......

The main reason the speeds are slow is the Back Haul bearers and the fact that once a few people are using the bandwidth you will only get a share of it. It's a bit like trying to suck marbles through a straw.......

I'll believe the 100 mbs when I see it, they checked the area and said it was ok, might have to do some work outside at the box in the ground, should be interesting.
