What did you pay for it?

$869 on Mobicity.com.au - http://www.mobicity.com.au/htc-desire-hd.html

You can get it for maybe $100 bucks cheaper if you source it yourself in the UK, but I did my research and this mob have a good reputation, plus you'll get local support if it turns out to be a donkey.

OK, bottom line is good try but it's a dud.  Next!

Not really - they're just giving a realistic non-fanboi idea about what to expect, apart from the battery life the issues presented are pretty inconsequential - but then it seems all pocket gadgets have battery problems.

No substitute for the iPhone............yet anyway, they're all copies in one way or another.

Well - it is, the iPhone4 is finally what the iPhone should have been originally, but I'm well and truly done with the Apple way of (not) doing things, I'm looking forward to the move to Android to properly set up my gadget the way it really should be.

I've playing with the iPhone4 plenty - it's just a faster and less-crashy version of mine, the gf who's a complete geek is starting to regret getting it instead of an Android device.

I like the Iphones silent switch - just flick the switch and put it back in ya pocket.
