Easier than what?

Valid point, I, like many others, I presume, don't look beyond the iPhone.

The only failure of this phone and it's a big one is that you have to use iTunes to upload or delete photos, but I'm used to it now.
Apps like weather live on your homepage to be useful would have to be updated by constantly pushing the data through, I'd rather open an app when I need it.

I never used to browse the web on the phone but since Google updated their browser it's faster than my PC, just brilliant.

Apple have combined the perfect marketing campaign with a product the match, so much so that many people like me dont even look at the alternatives, I would have to see something on a different phone that I didn't have here that I needed to make it even worthwhile looking at it.

Yeah that used to absolutely shit me, I take dozens of pics a day and I want them right there and then. :irked:  Everything on Android is done over-the-air, there's no reason to need to connect it to a computer, but guess what - if you do, it becomes a hard drive.

As soon as I take a photo, it's automatically uploaded to my Picasaweb (online photo storage and editor) so I can use it on my PC, if I was browsing something on my PC and I'm now on my phone, it tells me what web pages I have open on my PC and vice-versa. My "Google Drive" allows storage of whatever I want in the cloud without much hassle. You can actually upload photos and files  directly to webpages - ie I can post a pic of a car in the spotted thread as soon as I snap it without going through a 3rd party like Tapatalk or whatever - maybe iOS can do that now, not sure.

edit: screenshot of homescreen

* notification bar - shows current status of stuff, simply swipe down anywhere on homescreen and it opens to show anything that's happened on your phone since you last checked.
* battery status - current charge, current current ( :? ) ie recieving or displacing, how many minutes left till empty or for charging. When you tap the widget you get loads of stats about the battery usage etc.
* time & date - standard crap, fully customisable though, tap the time to set an alarm, tap the date to set an appointment.
* current weather - standard stuff, can put multiple cities/etc, tap weather for long-term forecasts and shit.
* settings bar - auto-rotate toggle, screen brightness, wifi toggle, mobile data toggle, airplane mode. Dozens of other phone settings available.
* hard drive space - also yet another battery health icon, no idea why I have that there.
* mobile and wifi data used today - can be set to cap your data at a certain level.
* Accupedo - passive pedometer, tracks how far I walk each day without needing my input, clearly haven't left the house today.
* two free spaces - not sure what else to put there
* FM radio
* photo gallery
* bottom bar - stays visible across all homescreen pages for quick access to most-used apps - messaging, email, browser, phone, camera

Photo management on the iphone irritates me. I've spent a bit of time on it while I'm on break but the end result is you can almost do what you want - or you can do it the Apple way. If you do it the Apple way, with Apple equipment, then it is seamless and quick. However I don't work that way. I'm going to do some more optimising but I think the Galaxy 3s is looking good.

Feature for feature it's nigh on impossible to separate high-end phones nowadays.

My main issues with iPhone are simply that you have to buy into the Apple Universe, things may have become better in the couple years since I've had an iPhone, but no matter, Android has long since left them behind for functionality and ease of use out of the box - none of the frustration of dealing with the Cult Of Steve.

Pity, because unlike ckbag above I actually prefer the smaller form-factor of the iPhone, the Galaxy is simply not a one-handed device for most things.

The screen on the galaxy 2 is perfect for me. Trying to use an iPhone is a frustrating after using a galaxy cause of the the smaller screen. I wouldn't mind it being slightly bigger infact like the galaxy note lol

But yeah but I notice I make more typos compared to the iPhone.....hopefully this is fixed on galaxy 3???

I suppose that all these phones such as the Samsung are based on the iPhone and have tried to achieve what the iPhone did, even if said otherwise by the manufacturers, so you have to ask are they an improvement in the iPhone or did they not achieve what the iPhone has?
if your car feels safe, your not going fast enough

Er, what was that exactly? There were touchscreen devices long before iPhone. I can't really think of anything iPhone specifically achieved that wasn't existent already. At best it was just the first decent attempt at putting all the different functionality available across many devices into one.
