It's on the 3, 3gs and 4, if you installed the iOS4 on it.

iOS5 should be available soon for download I think, looks pretty good:

How can you tell, wheres the setting ?

I think if you go to settings -> general -> about, you can see what operating system you are using, it'll say 4.x.x or 3.x.x

4.2.1

Firmware 05.15.04

Was on itunes before and it said all was up to date but double clicking the home button gives me my favorites.

Hmmm that's odd. As far as I know, the only option for double clicking the home button is multitasking.

There is a triple click option in settings - general - accessibility but that only gives a few options.

I dont have accessability I have home button where the only options for double click are search, favouries, home, camera and ipod

So I guess thats it.

Ah ok, then my guess is that you have the iphone 3 and the multitasking most likely only works for 3s and 4.

Not to pick on you guys because I was the same about 8 months ago. But I am amazed by the number of people I have shown that "shut down apps" thing.

Are there any actual details of changes the OS when you update to include the new features. Or is it one of those screens I just click through?

i only stumbled on it by accident.... i used to have the double click for my camera. it was really handy.

If you are interested, watch the wwdc keynotes as they go over those major features.
