I was recently stuck at Hong Kong airport due to a flight mix up for the day.
Bought an Archos 70 tablet to mess about with to kill the time in the lounge.
I like it because it has a 250GB hard drive, enough to store plenty of movies and stuff, which is important for me as I spend my entire life travelling between hotels and on planes.

Processor is supposed to be ok, its a bit flimsy but then they all are, it lacks ram, but then they all do.
Once you hack it a bit and uninstall all the useless crap its much better.
Plays just about any media out of the box, including mkv.
Has HDMI output and the battery lasts about 7 hours on video with wifi on.

I paid nearly $300 at the airport, but saw them for around $270 north of Mong Kok, think they can be ordered online from canada for around that price too.

If you want something high end, Asus have released their EPAD..... its about 12 or 13" screen, intel i5 processor, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, hdmi, usb, bluetooth, wifi etc..... and runs windows 7. they are $1400, but they are pretty awesome...
i have one at work, am pretty impressed by it. i think its rated to 4-5 hours battery life running a 1080p video, which is pretty good i guess.

Ouch, they changed the specs, down to 800x480 resolution (same as my phone) and no bluetooth.

New Acer Iconia tablet is pretty cool too.... running android honeycomb (android3) has hdmi, 32gb flash + microSD, but not 3g either... had a play with one today, i love it, works really smoothly and seems as sorted as an ipad. circa $700
