Is LinkedIn used much in Aus?

Getting really popular over here as a business networking site.

Heard of it here and there, was getting "invites" to it a while back - not sure of it's usefulness - at the mo I don't even have time to keep up with facebook and fchat and Lpower etc, signed in anyhoo and will have a quick look...

Apparently I'm a Space Planner

Friend of mine has sent me a doc on how to get the best out of LinkedIn (somehow he can recruit straight off it...). Happy to send it to you if you want.

It is quite big here ... though in the current market it's as much a pain-in-the-arse as it is of benefit as there's a lot of IT folk out of work who are using linked-in to 'shake' their extended network to see if there's jobs around.
C'mon, do it!

Understandable. Alot of it happening here too.

Been using it since 2002, but only really took off in Europe around the 2005 mark. Really useful for keeping track of business colleagues, and (when the markets were better) had a number of opportunites arise through it.

Since moving to Oz, seems less widely used but on the increase.
Back in Lincolnshire.

Does anyone know if you can set up Linkedin to automatically accept any and all requests for connection?  I get a dozen or more requests a day from strangers.  I let everyone in - and never look at them again - but it takes time to accept each one.  It would be great if they could let themselves in without bothering me.

I've never bothered with Linkedin, or any other form of social media

But I'm curious, what's the benefits of Linkedin?

None that I can see. In case I'm too stupid to see the benefits, I'm resisting closing my account. I'm just trying to make it easier to belong.
