I didn't need to watch more than 30 seconds.

It's fake. Cool, but fake.

Could be a good call, I have no Idea myself but it looks awesome. A Pilots forum I saw it on said it was an Air New Zealand A320 and a New Zealand News website said it was recorded on a Go Pro. It does look very Go Pro like but an excellent simulation might look exactly like that too. I looked at about 6 articles on it and you were the first to call it a simulation including three pilot forums where no one called it. I'm not betting either way, you might be the first guy in the world that picked it as fake and commented and was right. I'm glad I saw it, even if it is a simulation, it looked amazing.

Must be. I think these might be as well.

It looked fake to me too, but I can count the number of A320s I've flown on less than one hand :)

Plus....I'm not allowed to fly through cloud.

The guy that filmed those two is an ex Jet Star New Zealand A320 Pilot. Looks like he did 100 landings at Queenstown so that Jet Star could get their accreditation to land there. All of these videos could have been taken when they were doing the accreditation. He has another video on his channel showing as he put the camera up on the dash to record.

I've had a quick look at the Queenstown 05 GNSS Approach plate.

It is a close enough match to the vid that it is the only possibility.
One thing for sure is that the video is significantly sped up. That MAY be enough to make it look fake to me but I doubt it.
After what you've said I suspect it's a cockpit vid from an A320 simulator, sped up.

Without going into too much detail (it's late. I'll look closer in the morning) the first thing I notice is that if you look at the first 30 secs of the vid it is obvious that the sun is very low in the sky and BEHIND the aircraft. Why then does the horizon we are looking at have a band of orange light above it?
I have seen literally hundreds of sunrises and sunsets from the cockpit of various aircraft and when the sun is that low in the sky, the opposite horizon is pitch black. There is no glowing band. See the pic below I took a couple of months ago of a sunrise over Adelaide and although you can't see exactly what I mean it is clear that away from the sun the sky is very, very dark indeed. The sun itself is just peeking up about 30 degrees left of shot. I can assure you the sky 90 degrees to the right is utterly pitch black.

However, I could be wrong, and if I am I'll cop it sweet!

:)

Ok. One of my best mates is a Jetstar A320 Captain.

I'll ask him and if it's real, I'll eat humble pie.

(Even if it is real. It's massively sped up).

Remember we are only talking about whether the original one posted is real.
And I don't think it is. :)

Edit: Hold on. Are you saying the ORIGINAL vid is supposedly filmed by this Jetstar captain?
If not I won't waste my friends time by asking him.

If you're saying the others you've posted are filmed by that Simon guy and are real then I have no argument with that.

But I maintain the original posted vid is not real.

I'd agree with that, the landing scared me just watching it.

I just looks like a standard approach filmed with some zoom on, then sped up. I can't see anything exciting there.

Agree, I'm showing my age here but I flew many times into the old Hong Kong airport.  Now that was scary!!!! (And fun in a strange way)
