Trading Post halts print editions

EXCLUSIVE: THE Trading Post's print editions will be closed down by the end of next month, internal sources say.

A number of Adelaide staff were told they were being made redundant today, with the business moving completely online.

Telstra, through its directories division Sensis, paid $636 million for the Trading Post's 22 print publications and five websites in 2004.

The business has since struggled in the face of strong online competition.

Sensis sacked 220 staff earlier this year, blaming a drop in print classified sales.

The Trading Post was established in 1966.

A Telstra spokesperson is yet to get back to AdelaideNow.
