Hi guys and gals... So I get my 2007 Maserati Gransport delivered yesterday, but low and behold only has 1 key.. I have all the books and codes required, but told only Maserati can supply a second key at about $1200.00.. is this true?

Anyone know of any other company that can cut and code a key.. Doesn't have to be a genuine key but would be good if it was a 2 button like the original that opens the doors and the boot..

Any info would be much appreciated.

Cheers

$1,200 is not bad for a genuine key. Bentley is $1,200 also. Ford is $800, Lexus is $1,400.

I've done this a couple times with Merc and Toyota keys (Not Maserati)

Buy OEM  key off ebay, Switch the internals so the new chip is in the old case. On your next dealer service complain that it has just stopped working they will check it and reprogram it for free.

OR slip the counter guy some cash to code it for you.

It amazes me how often cars only have 1 key. Do people lose them that often?
