If it's true I won't be as dissapointed missing out on an allocation for the 911r as I'll be sure to get my name down for a gt3 in manual.

This was what I was thinking.  As awesome as the R is.  I can see a lot of people who missed out just buying a 991 gt3 manual instead of paying a stupid premium.    Sure it may be lacking a few of the interesting features of the R, but for what will be 60% of the price you get 95% of the car.   And the manual transmission is the primary concern anyway.

And I would get a rear WING ....

As a realistic weekend toy a new manual GT3 would be impossible to beat.

Would be good to drop the  gt3 spoiler and put a ducktail on it.

I think after 5+ years the value of R will similar to 997 speedster, sports classic and 4.0......
The Speedster and SC are highly collectible cars in their own right, but I reckon the 4.0 is still on another level.   It's the ultimate 911 and going to be one of the all-time greats, if it isn't already

Official reveal of the 991.2 GT3 with manual gearbox option will happen in November apparently.
Here it is testing with no camo...

Some people have suggested a manual 991.2 GT3 will affect 911 R resale prices.  Personally I'm not so sure.  I think the 911 R will go down as a collector's item in it's own right, more so than the 997.2 Speedster or Sport Classic (different type of car). Going off reviews the 911 R seems like one of the very best driver's cars around, if not the benchmark.

991.2 looks the business, will no doubt be a cracking car in manual or PDK
