Does anyone know this car?  Very tempting!

Given that the Star Wars mark I Millenian Falcon is offered for sale with similar frequency I'm assuming it will be big $.
I gather they go for a fair sum in the UK.

Anyone had a 996 rs and 997 rs?  I wonder how they compare.

I think this car was on car sales last year for about $175k. It's fab.

Heard the 996 steers better and has more soul. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks for that. I was anticipating more.
I did contact CTS today but they hadn't decided on a price as yet.

When these came out, they were saying they were the greatest since the 74? RS.

Now it's just another RS, and the 997 is better.

I had a 996 gt3, and loved it. But my 997 gt3 was better.

Don't get swept up with emotion, or you'll pay too much.

Remember it's a 10 year old car.

Will they appreciate like a 74? Don't think so.

Scud which car had the better steering, 996 GT3 or 997 GT3?

996 feels far more connected and raw than the 997

It's a matter of perspective if you think that's better or not.

No question with similar tuning & mods the 997 will be a faster car. But it doesn't "feel" it.

it's been a few years now. The 997 was faster on the track than the 996, so I'll use that to say the 997 is better.

Looks better too.

Agreed, but oh the price difference now (if you can get a 7) is it that much better?

In my experience the 996 GT3RS was more razor sharp, with a higher case of rollovers on track and serious accidents during targa events. This was based on it's tendency to break away when driven on the limit.

The 996 was always a road car turned into a road racer.

Where as the 997 GT3 was based on a race car to begin.

In my opinion a 997 GT3 is streets ahead of the 996 GT3RS.

Having stated this, the 996 GT3RS would be a better investment just based on the fact that it wheres the RS badge.
May the Horse be with you....
