I agree with scud. It's kinda odd to import one here. Is someone really going to pay LCT on one and then not be able to use it. Better to buy one in Europe or the US and keep it there.

I spoke to my man yesterday and he hopes that big changes will be coming through for this space.

Also the whole RAWS thing may be ditched too.
May the Horse be with you....

Track cars can be exempt, but the exemption is narrow and no use here.

"racing and rally cars that are not used as road vehicles and cannot be registered for use on public roads in any country in the world – these racing or rally cars are designed for use only on rally or racing circuits."

What would have been the best was when Porsche offered 2 x 918's for $1.5m AUD each landed here with 6 track days.

Yes it would have been on Track rego, however nothing would have stopped you from shipping the car to Europe for their summer every year.

Put it on a rally permit you can drive to any event, display, workshop or test on the road. Drive to PI or EC put it on display at CIBO's in any state and drive to and from the display.

It's very clear on the permit what you can do. You can register a LHD car in Vic on RP.

Yep, after you've paid Luxury Car Tax.
